Life Saving Device Installed at The Killarney Outlet Centre

Killarney Outlet Centre is pleased to announce that an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) has just been installed in the Centre, by local health and safety specialists, Southern Safety. The Defibtech Lifeline AEDis extremely effective in resuscitating patients suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.

The easy to use life saving apparatus carries the CE mark of conformity for use in the European Union and is approved by the Federal Drug Administration for use in the USA; andis the very best AED on the market in Ireland today, and the easiest to use according to studies.

The AED is is prominently located on the ground floor in the middle of the Killarney Outlet Centre and is ready for use with pre-connected pads (child/ paediatric pads are available). Text, lights and clear voice guides will assist all users; and 8 to 10 Killarney Outlet Centre staff will be trained by Southern Safety in the use of the device.

With a footfall of over 2 million per year, the Killarney Outlet Centre has followed the lead of Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, which was the first public venue in Ireland to install life saving portable defibrillators; and joins it as one of the only shopping centres in Ireland with such a device. Paul Sherry, Killarney Outlet Centre Manager said “We spent some time researching our public safety options, and Firies based company, Southern Safety offered the best equipment available. With so many people passing through the centre every year, we feel it is essential that we can provide for all eventualities, and by installing this AED we are moving towards that.”
